Email Scams & Phishing
The Office of Human Resources has recently become aware that faculty and staff are receiving unsolicited offers for retirement and benefit consultations from an outside organization that represents itself as having knowledge of your state-administered retirement funds. The sender is mypensioneducation.com and the subject line reads “Kean Annual Pension Review.” See below for a sample message. The unauthorized individuals sending these emails are in no way affiliated with Kean or the New Jersey Division of Pensions and Benefits.
More information, including fraudulent email and messaging, can be found here.
We want to remind you that Kean’s official sources of information about employee retirement planning may be found on the Human Resources webpages below:
If you are a member of the Alternate Benefit Program (ABP), you are encouraged to schedule a one-on-one retirement planning session with your ABP-designated service provider on an annual basis. These are representatives from the state-approved ABP financial institutions that have been specifically assigned to our campus to provide you with education and support.

Additionally, members of PERS or PFRS may contact these providers with questions about the supplemental retirement savings plans or other related topics.
