Supplemental Benefits Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment for Supplemental Benefits in Workday
Beginning Tuesday, October 1, through Thursday, October 31, all full-time employees will be able to make supplemental benefit elections in Workday for Open Enrollment. This is exclusively for the Vision Plan, Legal Plan and all Lincoln Financial Plans, which include voluntary life insurance and AD&D (Accidental Death and Dismemberment) insurance plans. All changes to coverage made during this period will be effective Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
This does NOT apply to the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP). Open Enrollment for SHBP, including medical, prescription drug and dental benefits will continue to be administered through mynjbenefitshub/benefitsolver.
State Health Benefits Plan (Health, RX, Dental) Open Enrollment
NOTE: On October 1, you will receive a Workday inbox item that you can use to make your supplemental benefit elections for 2025 and submit them to the Office or Human Resources.
This Workday guide will walk you through the enrollment process step-by-step.
- To explore coverage options: You can enter the Workday inbox item to explore coverage options and view rates. No changes will be saved unless you hit the submit button.
- To make changes: If you would like to change these plans, modify coverage and add or delete dependents, click on the Workday inbox item and follow the prompts to submit your selections. As you will only see your elections reflected in Workday effective as of January 1, you are encouraged to print the 2025 Benefits Summary (which will appear after you submit your elections) as a personal reference.
- To leave it all as is: If you do not want to make any changes to your coverage for these plans, disregard the Workday inbox item. No action is required.
Note: There are no plan design or rate changes for Plan Year 2024 for the Vision Plan, Legal Plan or the Lincoln Financial Plans.
Important Reminders:
- Beneficiaries - If you are selecting Employee Voluntary Life Insurance or Employee AD&D, you will be required to provide your beneficiaries.
- Evidence of Insurability (EOI) - Employees who select Employee Voluntary Life Insurance and Spouse Life will be required to take additional steps to confirm EOI. If this is the case, you will receive a To-Do action step in your Workday inbox with further instructions and your next steps in early November, after the close of the open enrollment period. For details, see EOI - Instructions for Online Submission.
- Adding Dependents - If you add dependents to Workday that do not already exist in the system, you are also required to upload documents to verify their dependent status.
Again, this does NOT apply to the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP).
