External Summer Research Programs
Program Description
CURF is currently working on expanding its presence outside of Kean University. As Kean has been recognized as an urban research university in New Jersey, our objective is to expand our network in the state of NJ. Through external partnerships, faculty and students from Kean University can gain new collaborations, shared knowledge, and join in research opportunities far beyond Union County. Especially for underrepresented students, having the opportunity afforded to them to join a prestigious research institute, hospital, or company for a semester-long program can open doors to future careers and connections within a particular field. The Summer Research Program will be an intensive, full-time research experience for Kean students. Students will be matched with faculty mentors from a diverse array of academic disciplines. Participants will learn about the process of research by working with their mentors in the laboratory and by participating in workshops, seminars, trips to local research laboratories in industry and medicine, and social events.
