Accommodated Testing

Eligible Kean University students may receive testing accommodations for quizzes, tests or exams associated with an enrolled course.
A student eligible for testing accommodations may test with the instructor at the same time and date as the rest of the class subject to the instructor's ability to provide accommodations in class or via the Learning Management System. When circumstances do not permit a student to test with the class, the student may use the testing facilities described below.
Kean - Ocean
The Ocean County College (OCC) Testing Center provides accommodated testing for Kean/Ocean students who cannot take their tests in class. After confirming your testing needs and test dates with your instructors, schedule your testing appointment at go.ocean.edu/test. You will need to present a current, valid photo ID and your accommodation plan on test day. Contact the Kean Ocean office at 732 255-0401 if you have any questions.
Kean - Union
Students who arrange with their professor to take their test/exams through the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS), must complete the top portion of the OAS Testing Accommodation Form (link below) and then have their professor complete the remainder of the form and provide the form and the test to OAS.
- Use the form below to initiate your request to use the OAS Testing Room:
- Schedule your OAS Testing Room appointment by logging into the Accommodate Student Portal and clicking the 'Testing Room' menu item.
All Testing Appointments must be made at least one week in advance. Day of and one day prior requests will not be accepted. Canceling and rescheduling an existing Test Room Appointment must also be done at least one week in advance. Contact the Kean OAS at 908 737-4910 if you have any questions.
OAS Testing Room Guidelines
- Testing appointments can be made through email, phone, in person, or through the Accommodate Student Portal
- Students must schedule testing appointments at least one week in advance. Any appointments requested less than one week in advance will not be accepted.
- If requesting a testing appointment through email, please direct all requests and testing communication to the OAS office email, accessibilityservices@kean.edu. Please include all required information:
- course name (eg. MATH*1000-02),
- professor name,
- professor’s Kean University email,
- date and time of the requested appointment,
- and if the Testing Accommodation Form (cover sheet) has or has not already been provided to the professor.
- Students must fill out part one of the OAS Testing Accommodation Form. After completing the requested student information, present the form to your professor so they can complete part two and return the form to OAS via email or in person. It is the student’s responsibility to provide the form to their professor.
- Please ensure professors deliver the exams/quizzes to the OAS office either in person or through email.
- OAS does not pick up or drop off exams.
- A reminder email will be sent out either the week before or the week of your appointment. All testing appointments will take place in the OAS Testing Room (Downs Hall Room 122) unless stated otherwise.
- Students, please make every effort to arrive for the scheduled appointments 5-10 minutes prior so the exam/quiz can be started on time. Every minute a student is late, is time that will be lost to take the exam. Additional time will not be added to the end of the exam/quiz (unless stated otherwise by the proctor).
- The Wellness Center closes from 12pm-1pm for lunch each day. If a student has an appointment between that time, please call or send an email for assistance with entry via 908-737-4910 or accessibilityservices@kean.edu
- Exams will be proctored or monitored to uphold the University’s Academic Integrity Policy.
