Program Mission

The Mission of the Kean University SUPERA Spanish Speaking Program is to provide access to higher education to Spanish Speaking students who are English Language Learners (ELL). By making it possible for students to take ESL courses while completing General Education courses in their native language, the program provides easier access to higher education for these students. Our goal is the smooth transition of students with limited English skills into mainstream education and community life. Through the many services offered to English Language Learners, the program seeks to improve its retention and graduation rates in accordance with the university's goal. In conjunction with other programs and student support services, the Supera Spanish Speaking Program seeks to contribute to Kean University’s commitment to opportunity.
