Supera - Spanish Speaking Program
SUPERA Spanish Speaking Program, established in 1972, offers students who are English Language Learners (ELLs) access to higher education. Through SUPERA, students follow a structured study program designed to achieve full integration into university life. This includes taking courses in Spanish during their first years of study.

As part of the General Education (GE) curriculum, Supera courses allow students to advance in their university career while acquiring the necessary knowledge of English through the ESL (English as a Second Language) program.
Since its inception, the Spanish Speaking Program at Kean has successfully graduated a large number of students who today serve as highly qualified professionals working as productive members of society in the United States and other countries.
Program Objectives
In order to integrate ELLs into the academic, social, and professional communities, the objectives of the SUPERA Spanish Speaking Program are to:
- HELP students acquire the English language skills necessary to achieve academic and professional success.
- ADVISE students and provide necessary services to ensure their retention and graduation.
- ASSESS students’ progress in completing program requirements and objectives to facilitate an easy transition to the English-speaking society.
- MOTIVATE and GUIDE students to freely choose a career that allows them to exercise their rights and obligations as citizens of a multicultural society.
- PREPARE students to be academically and professionally self-sufficient.

In my opinion, the benefits that I got from participating in the Spanish Speaking Program were guidance, wisdom, and awareness, all of which helped me become a positive and professional contributor.
