Housing Cancellation
Students who want to cancel their housing must notify the Office of Residence Life by accessing their application in the Residence Life Housing Portal and selecting "Cancel/Withdraw application" from the dropdown menu.
There is a cancellation charge based on the date the termination is processed. In order to avoid a cancellation fee, please refer to the schedule listed below.
If a Resident is assigned a residence hall space after the cancellation deadlines, the student has three (3) business days to cancel their Housing Contract to avoid the cancellation fee.
If a resident cancels their housing contract during the academic year, the cancellation will not be processed until the resident has officially moved out of their assigned space. This includes removing all personal belongings from the space, returning their keys, and completing all move-out documentation. If any of the above requirements are not followed, the University will deem that the resident has not vacated the residence hall space and will continue to be charged for the space. Students that have already moved into the residence halls must submit the form, move all of their items out of their room, and check out with a Residence Life staff member. The housing contract will be terminated based on the date the student returns their key.

As a reminder, the $125.00 application fee is a non-refundable fee.
Spring 2025 Cancellations
Students currently living on campus for the remainder of the Fall do not need to complete an application for the Spring semester. Those who are not planning to reside on campus during the Spring semester must cancel their housing contract online through the Housing Portal.
The deadline to cancel for the Spring 2025 Semester is November 21, 2024. The Spring refund policy calculation is as follows:

Move-Out Instructions
The following steps must be taken in order to avoid an Improper Move-Out Charge of $75.00:
- Set up a move-out appointment with your Resident Assistant in your building's Community Center.
- Upon move-out, your apartment will be inspected and you must sign out on your Inventory sheet and turn in your keys.
- Your refund amount will be determined by your actual move/sign-out date on your Inventory sheet. Refunds are determined on a percentage schedule based on the day you return your keys.
Fall 2024 Refund Policy
A refund shall be made on a percentage basis of the remainder of the academic term pursuant to the below listed chart. Residents that request a contract termination with six or less weeks remaining in the semester will not be issued a refund.
