Travelearn Information for Students
Attend A Kean Travelearn Trip
Pursue your degree while visiting and learning about a new part of the world through a Travelearn, Kean's short-term study abroad program. Travelearns offer you the opportunity to combine your academic studies with 7-10 days of travel to various destinations.
The Travelearns occur in the Spring and Summer terms, with locations and classes changing every year. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply and you do not need to be of a specific major to attend the trips.
The programs typically consist of lectures and excursions related to a particular topic. Travelearn programs are led by faculty who are experts in the respective program's field of study.
Students should anticipate to apply for a trip about 6 months in advance. For example, the Spring trip applications generally open in late September.
Students can browse program offerings and apply through the Kean Abroad Portal.
Please email us at keanabroad@kean.edu with questions about trip details and application instructions.
Application Process
Students interested in participating in a Kean Travelearn can apply to one of the trips through our Kean Abroad Portal.
Students who are accepted to participate will receive further instructions on administrative forms, policies, and procedures.
Once students are selected to participate, they will then receive information on applying for the Go Global information. It is after students are selected for the trip that they will apply for the scholarship.
The FAFSA form is also required if you would like financial assistance.
Registering for the Connected Kean Class
Matriculating Kean students must contact the faculty coordinator to register for the corresponding course in KeanWISE.
External participants must register for academic credit as visiting student. You must obtain visas and any other required travel documentation required by the destination country.
Scholarships
Students who are nominated by Kean Center for International Studies to study abroad are eligible to apply for the Go Global Scholarships. The application information for the scholarship will be sent to students once they are nominated.
