CCAMPIS - Child Care Access Means Parents in School is a federal program of the U.S. Department of Education that assists qualified student parents/guardians with the cost of high-quality child care while completing their degree.

Mission

The goal is to increase the likelihood of low-income student parents/guardians in completing their education by providing them the support needed to become academically successful knowing that their children are safe and well cared for and educated by high-quality teachers during the day and/or after school.

Eligibility

  • Kean University Students
  • Current FAFSA on file 
  • Pell Grant eligible     
  • Have a child enrolled in a child care program or interested in enrolling at the child care center on campus.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Not receiving a child care subsidy from another local, state or federal program
  • Enrolled in degree seeking program

The following documents must be submitted with the CCAMPIS application in order to be processed.

  1. Copy of Current Financial Aid Award Letter
  2. Current Course Registration (Class Schedule)
  3. Current Unofficial Transcript (indicating current GPA from KU, transfer college or high school)

What is expected from the participants?

  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.0
  • Maintain a minimum course load of 3 credits
  • Participate in CCAMPIS Workshops and Events
  • Class attendance confirmation each semester

Applicants will be selected based on greatest need, application date, and Kean Child Care Center space availability.
