College includes lots of firsts. For alumni Olivia Triano and Alex Lopes, some of their fondest firsts were together, including the first time they met while working in Kean Athletics.

The painter Stuart Davis was the subject of a traveling retrospective, recently at the Whitney Museum in New York, emphasizing his later paintings and development of shifting jazzlike variations over the course of decades. 

Two Kean University communication majors learned first-hand what it takes to report on a US presidential candidate when they heard former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speak at the recent NABJ/NAHJ Annual Convention and Career Fair in Washington, D.C.

Just in time for the 2016 presidential election, Kean Stage presents Reduced Shakespeare Company in their touring production of The Complete History of America (Abridged): Election Edition on Wednesday, October 19, at 7:30 pm in Kean University’s Wilkins Theatre. Tickets are $20-40.

The Michal Graves College's Why Design? lecture series continues on Wednesday, October 19 at 5:00 p.m. in the Green Lane Academic Building (GLAB) room 617 with Michael Strum. Strum will develop the theme Resonating Beauty.

The Michael Graves College Lecture Series will present a talk on storytelling and design by RBSD professor Alan Robbins on Tuesday, October 11 at 5:00 p.m. in GLAB room 617. Robbins is an award-winning mystery writer and designer.

Michael Graves College Dean David Mohney was recently featured in a panel discussion on design and academic planning hosted by AIA Shanghai.

Maxine Lane ’78, a longtime friend, advocate and patron of Kean University who died in May at the age of 90 in Phoenix, Arizona, has left her nearly $1.7 million retirement fund to Kean University.
