The Kean University Gospel Choir is racking up more professional credits. The choir, which won McDonald's Gospelfest at the Prudential Center in Newark for the last two years, recently sang at Enlow Recital Hall with Sons of Serendip, the 2009 America's Got Talent finalists.
Kean University alumna Toni-Ann Palmisano got the best kind of surprise at work on Tuesday, December 19. In front of all of the students and faculty at Secaucus Middle School, where she is a math teacher, Palmisano learned that she has been honored with the national Milken Educator Award.

Amy Morales was sleeping when Hurricane Maria ripped through her home in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico last September, breaking windows and sending clothes and debris flying through the house and into the storm outside.
“It felt like a cyclone,” said Morales, 20. “It was horrible.”
