Bilal Al Dah, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Kean University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Accounting from Durham University Business School in the United Kingdom where he examined the effect of shareholder rights on the relationship between governance mechanisms and firm performance. Dr. Al Dah has extensive teaching experience having previously taught courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, financial statement analysis, and accounting analytics whilst teaching at the American University of Beirut and Savannah State University.

Gail Fraser, EdD, CPA., Associate Professor

Dr. Gail Fraser is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting. She is an alumna of Kean University with a B.S. in Accounting and has two degrees from the University of Pennsylvania - a Wharton MBA and an Ed.D. in Management of Higher Education. Dr. Fraser is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of New Jersey.
Prior to joining the Kean faculty, Dr. Fraser was the President of the Kean University Foundation which followed a 20+ year career serving as Chief Financial Officer of several biopharmaceutical companies.

Hanxin "Alice" Hu., Ph.D., Assistant Professor

Dr. Hanxin (Alice) Hu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting. Dr. Hu earned her Ph.D. in Management from Rutgers Business School in 2024. Her expertise lies in financial reporting quality, audit analytics, and the integration of emerging technologies in accounting education. Dr. Hu has taught courses in Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, and Auditing Financial Statements. She is dedicated to incorporating data analytics and technology-driven approaches into her teaching, aiming to enhance student engagement and critical thinking skills through active learning.

Kwanghyuk "David" Yoo., Ph.D., Assistant Professor

Dr. Kwanghyuk “David” Yoo is an Assistant Professor of Business Law in the Department of Accounting and Finance at Kean University. Before joining Kean, he served as the Law Librarian for Research Services and Adjunct Professor of Law at Emory University School of Law. Dr. Yoo also worked as a Law Clerk at the Office of the Attorney General of Iowa, where he focused on antitrust issues in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to his legal studies at Iowa Law, Dr. Yoo worked for many years with the Korea SMEs & Startups Agency, a government agency supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in South Korea.
He was also a Visiting Professor at Seoul Women’s University, where he taught International Economic Law, Public International Law, and International Institutional Law. Dr. Yoo began his career in public service as a Military Police Officer in the Eighth Army, United States Forces Korea. His research and teaching interests encompass business law in a broad sense, including antitrust, international trade, international business transactions, and law and economics.

Dr. Shuo Yang is an Assistant Professor of Accounting, She earned her Ph.D. in Accounting form the University of British Columbia in 2015. Before joining Kean University, Dr. Yang was an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Dr. Yang publishes in journals such as the Review of Accounting Studies, Accounting Horizons, the Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance and the Journal of International Accounting Research.

Thomas Metz, Lecturer, M.B.A., Lecturer Professor

Professor Thomas J Metz has devoted 40 plus years to the corporate world focusing in financial services, accounting, entertainment and consulting. Throughout his career he has taught in adjunct positions at various universities, instructing at Kean from 2008-2020. In 2020, Mr. Metz accepted a Lecturer position at Kean University. His focused approach to bringing his business experience into the classroom is a true passion.
He sees himself as a teacher primarily, but also apprenticed in business roles where he worked in management positions both domestically and internationally. Working internationally and experiencing the business culture of Hong Kong, Paris and London first-hand provided significant influence in shaping his balanced view of global business and the interrelationship of world economies. His diverse background and business affiliations bring the academics to life in his classroom and makes the world of learning that much more interesting.

Yuyun "Robert" Zhou, PhD, CPA., Assistant Professor

Dr. Yuyun (Robert) Zhou is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Kean University. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is an active CPA in the state of Iowa. Prior to joining Kean, Dr. Zhou taught at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Dr. Zhou’s research interests primarily focus on the role of accounting in M&A and debt contracting. He also maintains a strong interest in financial reporting quality, capital markets, and corporate disclosures.
