Q: How will evaluation be done if there are more than one instructors for one course section?
For each instructor listed on the course section, students will be asked to respond to all questions separately with instructor names listed for clarity. Each instructor should see their course section on their Dashboard. If you do not see your section on the dashboard, whether you are the only instructor of a co-instructor, contact the Office of Accreditation and Assessment.
Q: What is the minimum number of enrollment required for course evaluation?
The threshold is 3 students. No course sections with less than 3 students should be scheduled for evaluation. Additionally, the courses with only 3 students enrolled will not get results if they do not reach 100% response rate.
Q: Does the 3 student threshold count for independent studies, as well?
For independent studies (or any course), the first screening criterion is to check whether it has an instructional component. If the answer is no, then the course evaluations instruments are not the valid tools for evaluation, therefore the course should not be evaluated. If the answer is yes and there are many sections of the same course with 1-2 students instructed by the same instructor(s), each one of them can be scheduled for evaluation separately but will be combined for the reporting purpose. This is to protect students' identity as well as to make the results valid and meaningful.
