Equity in Action Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program
Dear Prospective Fellow,
Thank you for your interest in the Equity in Action Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.
This fellowship is personally meaningful to me, not only because it is Kean’s first postdoctoral fellowship program, but because it is a program with a mission to not just talk about equity, but to take action to promote equity.
As Kean strives to achieve R2 Carnegie classification, our success will be defined by our ability to cultivate the next generation of academics to innovate through research and scholarship, inspire and be inspired by their students, and promote inclusion and belonging as key components of the academic experience.
We are seeking scholars who reflect the rich diversity of our student body, whether based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, neurodiversity, disability, or otherwise. There are two ways you can contribute meaningfully to our mission to advance equity as a fellow: by virtue of your personal identity, or through scholarship explicitly focused on advancing equity, expanding access to those historically excluded from the academy, and promoting a sense of belonging for all.
We have intentionally designed a fellowship with balanced teaching schedules, robust mentorship, meaningful professional learning, and an environment where you can bring your whole self to campus each and every day. We are intentional about our efforts to recruit, retain and graduate students from all backgrounds. While I created an anchor division focused entirely on student success and retention, at Kean we believe that student success and retention are the responsibility of each and every member of our University community.
I invite you to apply and help us advance toward R2 status as an urban research institution with a faculty that reflects the vibrant diversity of our student body.
