Kean University

Dr. Camacho (he/him/El) identifies as a Gen Xer, Urban Dweller, First Generation American, South American background, Latino male, and First Generation with Higher Education. He has his post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy (OTD) and is an Assistant Professor at Kean University's Department of Occupational Therapy. He currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Justice Equity Diversity Inclusion (JEDI) committee for the New Jersey Occupational Therapy Association (NJOTA) and Co-Chair of the College of Health Profession and Human Services (CHPHS) Racial Equity Justice (REJ) Taskforce. His areas of clinical expertise are in adult care with a focus on lower limb amputation rehabilitation. Dr.Camacho's scholarship agenda is focused on equity, specifically on amplifying and growing the voices and unique needs of groups of our society who have historically been marginalized, underserved, and/or under-represented. He has disseminated Diversity Equity Inclusion Justice, Access, Belonging (DEIJAB) presentations and publications in national and international arenas. His service to the OT community is centered directly on mentorship and sponsorship efforts, which elevate the Latino community into leadership positions.
