Dr. Neveu’s research focuses on the interplay between language and cognition in bi/multilingual individuals throughout their lives. The mission of her lab is to advance knowledge on how language processing functions across individuals with varied linguistic experiences, and to enhance the quality of life for bilingual individuals with communication difficulties. We ask questions such as:

1) What shapes language decline in older bilinguals with Alzheimer’s Disease?

2) What measures of proficiency best define bilinguals; linguistic abilities?

3) How does dual-language immersion affect children’s language and cognitive skills?

4) How does bilingualism affect language production and word learning?
