COVID-19 Oral History Project
The COVID-19 pandemic is the most significant crisis the world has faced in over a century. It will shape the political, economic and social future for generations to come. The Kean University COVID-19 Oral History Project is a local, community-based project designed to document, archive and share student, faculty and staff’s unique stories of their experiences during the pandemic.
About
Faculty and students will conduct, record and archive audio interviews with members of the Kean community. To contribute, you can either request an interview on campus with one of our team members or you can record your own story or interview and upload the file to our website (see links below). We invite you to contribute your story, or the story of a family member, friend or colleague.
The project will combine communication, sociology and art to create a snapshot of the lives of our diverse community members – their struggles as well as their successes – during the pandemic. This project will have a positive psychological, social and artistic impact on Kean students and the surrounding community.
You can also submit an image that represents you or your narrative, which will appear next to your recording in the published archive. All members of the community are invited and encouraged to participate.
