Safety Manual

These are the three major sections of the Laboratory Safety Manual.  They cover safety issues you should be aware of as well as proper procedures to keep you and your colleagues safe.  You should familiarize yourself with the general safety section as well as any other section appropriate to your work.

General Lab Safety - covers fire safety & regulations, general lab safety & emergency equipment, general waste procedures, handling and shipping information

Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan - covers biological safety, biohazards in Kean labs, risks associated with the use of human and animal blood and tissue, Hepatitis B risks & vaccination information, biological specimen handling and shipping.

Chemical Hygiene Plan - covers chemical safety, handling, storage, emergency responses, safety data sheets.

KU Emergency Management - Quick Reference Guide - covers other emergencies, such as bomb threats, active shooters, earthquake, weather, and other emergencies which may occur on campus.
