Lunch with the Dean - Spring 2020

An Office of Admissions Event:
The Spring 2020 Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics and Technology Lunch with the Dean meeting for accepted students was held Saturday, April 25th and organized by he office of Admissions. Due to the Coronavirus and Stay-at-Home orders and Social Distancing, this Lunch with the Dean was held via Zoom. On April 26th Kean University held the broader Accepted Student Day via Zoom as well.

Approximately one hundred Accepted Students, joined Dean Chang at Lunch with the Dean with Dr. George Chang, at the height of the call, as they enjoyed pizza that was delivered to the home of each student for this lunch meeting.

The meeting began with all students, faculty, staff and administrators together as Sandra Mazara-Wheeler, Associate Director in Admissions welcomed everyone and got the meeting off to a great start. Admissions Counselor Daniel Flores then introduced Dean George Chang, Dean of the Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics and Technology. Dean Chang gave remarks and introduced the Executive Directors at today's meeting that would be available later for students to talk with in the Breakout Rooms. Dr. Chang then introduced today's Alumni speakers, Mr. Mike Rizzo and Dr. Dorothy "Dottie" McCabe , both who spoke of their positive experiences at Kean.

Mr. Flores talked briefly with the students, explaining the '5 Steps to Enrollment' so that they would know what steps they would need to take to enroll at Kean University.

Dean Chang gave final remarks and then accepted students went to the different breakout rooms to learn more about majors and areas of study that interest them.
