Philosophy and Religion
Kean University offers a variety of Philosophy courses and Religion courses in topics such as Critical Thinking, Eastern Religions, Ethics, Formal Logic, and the Philosophy of Law. Many of these courses fulfill a General Education Humanities Distribution requirement.
These courses are designed to help students understand the ways in which religious and philosophical issues appear throughout their lives, within their cultures, and across other cultures.

Philosophy and Religion Minor
Students can also earn a Minor in Philosophy and Religion by taking a mixture of six philosophy and religion courses as listed below.
- PHIL 1100: Introduction to Philosophy
- REL 1700: Introduction to Religions of the World

- Philosophy or Religion Elective #1
- Philosophy or Religion Elective #2
- Philosophy or Religion Elective #3 (must be a 3000 or 4000 level)
