Environmental Justice
This interdisciplinary 18-19 credit minor introduces students to a broad array of issues, challenges, social movements, and areas of contestation surrounding environmental justice. Students can choose from a special array of courses that foster critical thinking, that build analytic and communication skills, and that encourage effective solution-seeking to enhance the equitable distribution of environmental benefits and harms. The topics cover important global issues such as how to diminish disparities in toxic waste disposal, ecological resource protection, water and air quality control, and climate change mitigation.
