Non-Profit Cyber Incident Repository (NPCIR)
The Kean University Center for Cybersecurity started a data repository of publicly reported global cybersecurity incidents and attacks against the Non-Profit and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) sectors. The dataset is called the Non-Profit Cybersecurity Incident Repository (NPCIR). The area of Non-Profits is just as vulnerable as other organizations that may operate in a for-profit or agency sector, and the purpose of this dataset is to be available for researchers, students, cybersecurity practitioners, and those working in the sectors of Non-Profit or NGOs.
This dataset will be an ongoing and growing set of records created with the use of open-source and publicly disclosed outlets. This current and first version, labeled as (Version 2.0) includes data and information collected up until October 1, 2024.
To request access to the NPCIR, please complete this form – https://forms.office.com/r/dykXqjtYDu
Processing and review for access can take between 2-4 weeks once a submission is received for access to the NPCIR dataset.
The dataset is not considered a fully comprehensive list of all cybersecurity incidents, given that some incidents have not been reported or have not been made public. Additionally, the information in the dataset is as is and reflected based on the information made available in the open source or public domain.
The NPCIR dataset was created and captured in detail via the following research publication – https://doi.org/10.62273/EUFO3601
IMPORTANT:
- The NPCIR dataset is freely available to the community for use in academic training, research, and to cybersecurity, Non-Profit, and NGO stakeholders.
- The dataset was created without the use of material found on the Dark Web.
- Access to the free dataset is NOT to be used for commercial purposes and is NOT to be charged a fee.
