Support from the Office of Accreditation and Assessment
The newly expanded Office of Accreditation and Assessment looks forward to providing additional support and resources to assist in the academic assessment process. The Office will be scheduling meetings with each of the Department Chairs to discuss the new academic year.
The Office of Accreditation and Assessment is driven by a commitment to continuous improvement and alignment with best practices in higher education administration. The key objective is to streamline the assessment process by aligning it with the new department chair model. This alignment will lead to improved data collection, reporting, and accountability mechanisms, ultimately fostering a culture of assessment excellence across our institution. There are several compelling reasons to support this strategic shift:
- Streamlined Data Collection and Reporting Process: By aligning the assessment coordinator model with the department chair model, we can leverage the existing communication channels, responsibilities, and expertise within our academic departments. This alignment will lead to a more cohesive and coordinated approach to data collection and reporting, reducing redundancies and enhancing accuracy. Furthermore, the integration of Watermark, a proven platform for assessment management, will provide a standardized and efficient framework for data collection, analysis, and reporting across departments.
- Support from the expanded Office of Accreditation and Assessment: Our university has recently taken commendable strides in expanding the resources and capabilities of the Office of Accreditation and Assessment. The proposed alignment will allow the Office to better support those tasked with academic assessment by providing comprehensive training, access to assessment tools, and ongoing guidance. This collaboration will not only ensure consistent and high-quality assessment practices but also enhance the professional development of our academic assessment leaders.
