Senior Vice President for Administration
As Senior Vice President of Administration at Kean University, Michael Salvatore, Ph.D. is dedicated to improving the campus community through the democratization of data and detailed analysis. With an extensive background in education, including a University doctoral teaching fellowship in education leadership, Dr. Salvatore brings a wealth of experience to his role at Kean. He is committed to closing learning and access gaps and creating a more equitable and sustainable ecosystem for student success.
In addition to his work at Kean, Dr. Salvatore is also co-leading the university's Presidential Task Force for Research with the goal of achieving R2 status in the next fiscal year. This ambitious agenda has sparked engagement throughout the campus community and is part of Kean's pursuit of the prestigious Carnegie Classification for research.
As Senior Vice President, Dr. Salvatore oversees a number of key departments, including Student Affairs, Enrollment Services, Strategic Analytics, as well as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. He has previously worked in public education for over 20 years as a teacher, elementary school principal, and award-winning superintendent of schools in Long Branch, New Jersey. Overall, Dr. Salvatore is a dedicated educator and leader with a passion for improving student experiences.
