Third Annual Kean University End-of-Year Faculty Research Conference

Climbing Higher Together: Building and Sharing Impactful Faculty Research

Dear Colleagues,

We’re pleased to invite all Kean faculty, academic leadership, staff, fellows and adjunct professors to participate in the Third Annual Kean University Faculty Conference on May 9, 2025, as we continue our journey under the theme Climbing Higher Together

"Climbing Higher Together" reflects Kean University’s mission as New Jersey’s first urban research university, dedicated to anchoring down in our communities while advancing research, collaboration and scholarship that resonate globally. We welcome submissions from all departments and colleges, inviting both individual and collaborative projects that highlight the breadth of Kean’s academic contributions.

This year’s conference will feature paper presentations, fireside chats, and an exhibition to foster interdisciplinary exchange and provide fresh perspectives to strengthen our shared work.

Below are some examples of types of presentations:

  • An exhibition of in-progress creative work. Faculty could use the conference platform to inform the community on the status of their projects while garnering feedback and ideas for the project’s continuation.
  • A recently completed artistic output that can be showcased and explained in a manner that teaches about pertinent concepts and techniques.
  • A research project in progress or accepted at a regional, national or international conference, offering the faculty the opportunity to discuss their project in preparation for the upcoming conference presentation.
  • A recently or soon-to-be published research project, highlighting key insights and potential future research directions.

Paper Presentation Format

Presentations will be 15 minutes, followed by a short Q&A.

A 300-word abstract (for traditional research papers) or synopsis of creative scholarship (i.e., works of art, including performing, visual, or literary arts), according to your discipline.

We look forward to the unique insights and experiences you bring to this year’s conference, as we continue climbing higher while anchoring down together.
