AIDS and HIV Policy Statement
Current medical knowledge indicates that AIDS is a disorder that is not communicated through casual contact. AIDS substantially interferes with the life activities of those who contract it and hence is regarded as a disabling condition by Kean University. University policy forbids discrimination on the grounds of disability, including AIDS/HIV. Acts in violation of this policy by faculty, staff or students are forbidden.
A more comprehensive policy statement is available from the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. It details the procedures the University will follow to ensure the safety of all students and the kinds of actions it will undertake to educate the Kean University community about AIDS.
