March 2023 College Meetings
Based on the work completed by the initial Task Force on Departments and Chairs and the current DCI Task Force, and with the support of the University Senate , the Provost has approved further preparation for the transition to chairs and departments for Fall 2023.
Beginning with the March 2023 College Meetings, the Deans finalized department structures based on the recommendations and discussions with faculty and staff that started in the May 2022 College Meetings.
The College Meetings for all faculty and staff were scheduled as follows:
Michael Graves College
Monday, March 20 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Hutchinson 200
College of Liberal Arts
Thursday, March 23 from 3:20-4:20 p.m. in CAS 106 (remote option was available)
College of Health Professions and Human Services
Thursday, March 23 from 3:30-4:20 p.m. in East Campus 203 (remote option was available)
Thursday, April 13 is 3:30-4:20 p.m. in EC 203 (remote option was available)
College of Education
Monday, March 27 from 3:20-4:20 p.m. in Kean Hall 127
Friday, March 31 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. (remote)
College of Business and Public Management
Thursday, April 6 from 3:30-4:20 p.m. in Hynes Hall 102
After each College Meeting this website was updated with the Dean’s department structure recommendations and a link was available to collect final feedback from faculty and staff for review by the Dean and the Provost’s office.
The Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics, and Technology was not included in the above College Meeting list as they have been serving as the pilot College with departments and chairs since September 2022. Faculty and staff from HCSMT will be able to provide their feedback on their experience to assist with the transition of the other Colleges to the department and chair structure.
The DCI Task Force will continue to engage in a communication process that is characterized by transparency, inclusivity and collegiality.
