Special Invitation: An Evening with Salva Dut

Join Human Rights Institute Conference keynote speaker, Salva Dut, a Sudanese refugee and founder of Water for South Sudan, for a public talk and book signing.

As an educator in New Jersey for 21 years, I always looked for opportunities to engage my students in dialogue on real-world issues. When the HRI conferences began in 2008, I attended with my students, and all of us were enlightened and changed in some way. I haven't missed a conference yet. Now, I am part of the Kean community, having been motivated to get involved on a deeper level, both personally and professionally. I couldn't be prouder to spearhead the HRI's 10th annual conference.

I encourage you to attend the VIP reception with Salva Dut this evening, as well as the conference tomorrow, to learn more about this year's important topic, the global water crisis, but also to learn more about a powerful resource right here on campus, the Human Rights Institute. With your support and involvement, more great things are ahead at the HRI.

A Long Walk to Water Book Signing
Linda Sue Park's book, A Long Walk to Water, tells the true story of Dut's experience as a "lost boy" of South Sudan. Individuals can bring their own copy of the book or purchase one at the event to have it signed by Salva Dut.
