Let's Go! Occupational Therapy Program for Seniors
Oct 26, 2017
Students Tamar Rojas and Nicole Cassano, along with Professor Claire Mulry, OTD, from Kean's Department of Occupational Therapy, brought the Let's Go Community Mobility program to New Jersey seniors at three housing centers.
Let's Go is a proven four-week program with both group and individual sessions designed to help older adults improve their community mobility, physical and psychosocial health and well-being by encouraging them to participate in their favorite community activities. Let’s Go has the potential to reduce healthcare costs, create more vibrant communities, and empower older adults to maximize their quality of life.
Eight adults from Trenton used the skills they learned in Let's Go to take a bus to the MarketFair Mall in Princeton to shop, lunch and see a movie. Twelve adults from Somerset took the bus from their apartment complex to the Bridgewater Mall to shop, lunch and see a movie.
