The Kean University Board of Trustees voted on Monday, June 26, to raise tuition and fees for the 2023-2024 academic year by 3.5%, maintaining the University’s status as the most affordable research university in the State of New Jersey.
Kean has a longstanding commitment to offering its students an accessible, world-class education.
The increase for the next fiscal year brings the cost of tuition and fees for full-time, in-state undergraduate students to $13,426. Out-of-state students in the same category will pay $21,076 for tuition and fees in the next academic year.
Tuition and fees for in-state, full-time graduate students will be $18,630 in the next academic year, while out-of-state graduate students will pay $23,919.
The Kean Online undergraduate rate for full time, in-state and out-of-state students in the next academic year will be $13,426. Kean Online tuition and fees for full-time graduate students, in state and out of state, will be $18,630 starting in the Fall semester.
This year’s increase reflects higher operating costs of the University, a result of inflation in the global economy.
The Kean University community, including students, were offered the opportunity to comment on the proposed tuition and fees at the University’s Tuition Hearing, held virtually on Thursday, June 8.
