The Kean University Board of Trustees today voted to raise tuition and fees for the 2022-2023 academic year by 3%, after two years of keeping tuition and fees flat to maximize access for students in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The University, which is recognized as the most affordable in the state, has a longstanding commitment to offering an accessible world-class education.
The increase for the next fiscal year brings the cost of tuition and fees for full-time, in-state students to $12,972. Out-of-state students in the same category will pay $20,364 for tuition and fees in the next academic year.
Tuition and fees for in-state, full-time graduate students will be $18,000 in the next academic year, while out-of-state graduate students will pay $23,110.
The Kean Online undergraduate rate for full time, in-state and out-of-state students in the next academic year will be $12,972. Kean Online tuition and fees for full-time graduate students, in state and out of state, will be $18,000 starting in the Fall semester.
This year’s increase reflects higher operating costs of the University, a result of inflation in the global economy.
All members of the Kean University community, including students, were offered an opportunity to comment on the proposed tuition and fees at the University’s Tuition Hearing, held virtually on Tuesday, June 14.
