But the Kean alumnus used those challenges as motivation and is now an award-winning motivational speaker, student advocate and success coach.

Kean Ocean graduate Kristen Weinbel ’20 earned top honors and started her own social media marketing and digital marketing company as a student, while also dealing with a rare medical condition.

At the age of 72, Kean Ocean student Michael Bradic checked something off his bucket list — getting a bachelor’s degree in history — and became the oldest graduate in the Kean University Class of 2019.

For Kean graduates Welena and Wisner Noel, Kean’s Commencement will truly be a family celebration. The father and daughter will both receive bachelor’s degrees at the undergraduate ceremony on May 23 at the Prudential Center in Newark.
