Teaching Philosophy
I believe that research activity needs to interact with teaching as an ongoing process, involving a mutual flow of inputs. Teaching is likewise significant to me as a means of inter-active communication between teacher and students, in addition to fulfilling curriculum requirements. I strive to be accessible to my students. I am flexible and open to ideas. At the same time, I emphasize that the academic requirements and timeliness of work for the given lessons must be met with professionalism, depth, and accuracy suited to college work. I also encourage students to actively use e-mail and Blackboard for coursework.
The best part about teaching at Kean University
The students bring a great deal of varied experiences and show interest in learning. We have the flexibility to plan course materials and activities within the guidelines set for courses. It is constructive to be able to customize our work as needed for different student groups.
