Teaching Philosophy
I believe that higher education empowers a person to become more productive as a citizen, a better employee and sets the stage for one to become more active in the quest for social justice and criminal justice reform. Being a non-traditional college student myself, I understand the challenges that a non-traditional student faces while striving to earn their college degree. I adhere to student-centered teaching practices and believe that both the instructor and student share responsibilities in their learning process. I place a strong emphasis on academic excellence, scholarly research, efficient time management and written communication skills.
