Elizabeth Reddington , Ed.D.
Biography
Elizabeth Reddington is an applied linguist and language educator with over 15 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language. She holds an Ed.D. in applied linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her work involves applying conversation analysis in the study of professional practice, and she is particularly interested in examining classroom interaction to gain insight into relationships between teacher practices, student participation, and opportunities for language learning. Her single- and co-authored work has appeared in edited volumes and in journals such as Classroom Discourse, Discourse & Communication, and Linguistics and Education. She is the editor, with Hansun Zhang Waring, of Communicating with the Public: Conversation Analytic Studies (Bloomsbury).
