Kean University

BENJAMIN EAKELEY is a NYC-based educator and performing artist. He has appeared on Broadway in the revivals of She Loves Me, Cabaret, Sweeney Todd and On A Clear Day, You Can See Forever. He starred as Steve Healy in the 2023-24 First National Tour of Jagged Little Pill, and he has also toured as Cliff Bradshaw in Sam Mendes’ Broadway revival of Cabaret and as The Beadle in John Doyle’s revival of Sweeney Todd. 

Prof. Eakeley’s solo cabaret series, Broadway Swinger, was named a Critics’ Pick and “One of the Best Cabarets in NYC” by Time Out, and he has been a featured soloist with orchestras and at jazz clubs and cabaret venues across the country. He has performed at many of the country’s leading regional theatres and has been a company member of the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey for seven seasons. 

Prof. Eakeley has appeared in six films, including Robert De Niro’s The Good Shepherd. His television credits include “The Blacklist,” “Orange Is The New Black” and “The Good Wife.” He has received a New York Drama Critics’ Circle Special Citation (Sweeney Todd), an Astaire Award Nomination (She Loves Me), and he was a national finalist in the Lotte Lenya Competition for Singers. He is a graduate of Yale University. 

Prof. Eakeley has taught voice in Yale’s Shen Curriculum for Musical Theater since 2020 and has been an adjunct faculty member at Kean University Conservatory since 2022.
