Kean University

Aimee Mitacchione has been a dedicated dance educator and artist in the field of dance for over three decades. At Kean University, she has been an adjunct faculty member since 2021, teaching courses in Dance in Musical Theatre, Tap I, and Tap II. Since 2000, she has served as the Assistant Professor of Dance at Middlesex College, where she founded and continues as the Artistic Director of the MC Dance Ensemble. Her extensive teaching credentials also include her role as a lecturer at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts, where she teaches Jazz Dance I.

Her education includes a Master’s Degree in Dance in Higher Education & Administration from NYU/Steinhardt, and a BFA in Dance from Barat College of DePaul University. Mitacchione is a proud professional member of Dance New Jersey and the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO), for which she was a national presenter. Her choreographic accomplishments include many musicals such as PIPPIN (Kean University), RAGTIME (Light Opera of NJ at SOPAC), A CHORUS LINE (Plays-in-the-Park, Edison, NJ), and THE WHO’S TOMMY (Middlesex College). Additionally, she choreographs for the graduating seniors of Union County Vocational & Technical School.

Mitacchione is a seasoned performer having danced works by many renowned choreographers and has performed in musicals such as A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, and Crazy For You. She has served as a judge, adjudicator, and master class teacher for various organizations and events such as the NJ Teen Arts Festival, Middlesex County High School of the Arts, Middlesex County Teen Arts Festival, the NJ Governor’s Award for Dance Scholarship, and the National Society of Arts & Letters. Mitacchione’s passion for dance education, her commitment to fostering creativity, and her impact as a performer and choreographer exemplify her dedication to the arts and to her students.
