Midterm Feedback (MF) is supportive and personal
Elicits student feedback on your course
Confidential: no one knows about the feedback, unless you choose to tell them
Can help you understand what, when and how students are learning
Can help you understand what students deem as most important
Valuable for making adjustments midstream if necessary,
Differ from end-of-course teaching evaluations
MF is optional, End-of-course teaching evaluations (EoCTE) are mandatory
MF is administered by the CTL or on your own, EoCTE are administered at the institutional level
Outside of the formal faculty evaluation process, EoCTE must be included in your Interfolio
Both MF and EoCTE can be useful in examining your own pedagogical choices.
