Be the Change

Be the Change is a community service and activism group made up of students from Kean University and other volunteers dedicated to serving the needs of the local, state, national and global community. We believe in a "hands on" approach and building partnerships to affect positive change.

Be the Change has been selected to exhibit its “Vertical Gardens Peace Project” at the 2015 Clinton Global Initiative University Meeting. A self-sustaining compact gardening system, the vertical gardens have reduced crime in high-crime neighborhoods in New Jersey by 3 – 10 percent. 

Be the Change is seeking a manufacturer to mass produce gardens for planting anywhere in the world. The first global garden will be constructed at a women's center in Kosovo with the assistance of National Guard troops stationed there.
