Archived Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Advisement Notes

1. (August 20, 2020) An extension to the special Pass/Fail policy for Spring 2020 has been implemented.  Your advisees will be asking you about this.  They can select up to two (2) classes to be changed to P/U grades for the Spring 2020 semester only.   The deadline for the final designation of their choices has been extended to September 30, 2020.  Please note: P/U grades are not able to be recalculated at a future date according to the Kean University catalog.  Also note: neither P nor U grades are included in the GPA calculations, and therefore will not affect a student's GPA.

a. The Office of the Registrar has created a form for this process.  The form requires the Faculty Academic Advisor’s approval (or the Executive Director or Coordinator of the program) for processing.  This will ensure students do not choose classes that can impact their graduation, certification or impact other accreditation issues regarding their degrees.

2. (December 7, 2020) Please see this link for Winter 2021 and Spring 2021 Textbook Ordering, OER, and Library Reserves information.  All Winter and Spring 2021 textbook orders or notations of textbook not required must be placed as soon as possible (for Winter session) or by Thursday, December 31 via the Kean University Bookstore website at kean.bncollege.com

3. (December 7, 2020) Conditions for an Incomplete Grade and its Removal Contract Form.

For more information about Incomplete Grades, please see the Undergraduate or Graduate Catalog.  Please note that due to the pandemic, instructors may be more flexible with granting Incomplete Grades than outlined in the catalog upon consultation with their Coordinator, Executive Director or Dean's office.
