Biology: Cellular and Molecular Biology Option

The Bachelor of Science in Biology: Cellular and Molecular Biology Option at Kean University is a dynamic and rigorous program designed for students passionate about exploring the fundamental processes that drive life at the cellular and molecular levels. This 120-credit degree prepares graduates for advanced studies and diverse career paths in healthcare, biotechnology, research, pharmaceuticals, and more. The program integrates foundational courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics with more advanced studies in genetics, biochemistry, immunology, molecular genetics, and bioinformatics. Students engage in over 400 hours of robust laboratory experiences and optional research experiences to gain practical skills and real-world insights. This program supports pathways to research-focused graduate programs in molecular biology, biotechnology, and biomedical fields as well as pre-professional tracks such as pre-med, pre-dental, pre-veterinary, and pre-pharmacy.
