General Education Mentors (GEMs)

General Education Mentors are student leaders that have a strong academic foundation and knowledge of campus resources. GEMs help students transition from high school and adapt to college life, providing peer-to-peer support with vision, direction and support. Additionally, GEMs prioritize establishing student relationships while maintaining professionalism inside and outside of the classroom.   

General Education Mentors: 

• Co-Facilitate in Transition to Kean classes.
• Manage year-round campus workshops and special events.
• Assist with Accuplacer and CLEP placement testing.
• Develop hands-on office experience.
