Center for Academic Success
Overview
Kean University President Dawood Farahi developed the concept for the Center for Academic Success in 2003 to ensure excellence and accessibility for the entire Kean University student population. The Center for Academic Success began as a consolidation of the Career Services Center, the First Year Center and the Learning Assistance Program, and expanded to improve access to student academic support services.
A major advancement in the delivery of these services occurred with the January 2005 opening of the Maxine & Jack Lane Center for Academic Success Building, a state-of-the-art facility located centrally on campus.
Mission Statement
The Center for Academic Success (CAS) is a cornerstone of Kean University's commitment to access, opportunity and affordability for students seeking a college degree.
CAS and its programmatic offerings are designed to help Kean University fulfill its mission of helping to guide students from admission through to graduation. The primary goal of the Center is to address the academic and informational needs of Kean University students in one convenient location, regardless of their level of academic preparation.
Student Services
Effective fall 2018, a University One Stop Service Center supported by the registrar’s office returned to the first floor of the building, and serves as a convenient, centralized location for students to access academic support; registrar and career services; scholarship, internship and international studies information; and more.
A valuable starting point for assisting newly accepted and continuing students with navigating Kean University, One Stop shares the first floor with the Veterans Resource Center, the School of General Studies and the Office of Student Success and Retention.
