Computer Science students participate in HackKean

Computer science majors participate in the annual hackathon, HackKean.

What You Learn

  • Expand your knowledge of programming languages, techniques and emerging technologies
  • Study artificial intelligence, data mining, database systems, digital forensics, software engineering and web programming
  • Mitigate and address cybersecurity breaches and threats
  • Conduct original research with faculty mentors and present at national conferences
  • Create and improve computer software and hardware to solve business and communication challenges
  • Build a professional network and secure internship opportunities in several industries

You can also pursue a combined five-year bachelor's and master's program to quickly earn your advanced degree. Or earn your degree while gaining industry experience in our co-op program. Students participating in this 5-year program, gain 9-18 months of work experience while completing their degree.

The Computer Science program at Kean is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering and engineering technology.

ABET is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. It currently accredits 3,709 programs at over 750 colleges and universities in 30 countries.
