Thomas M. Else

(Chief Meteorologist - Operations Manager at Weather Works)

Tommy graduated from Kean University in 1997 with a degree in Earth Science | Meteorology and a minor in Mathematics. In addition, he finished top in his Meteorology class, graduated Summa Cum Laude and was asked to receive a symbolic Bachelor of Arts degree at the commencement ceremonies on behalf of all the candidates in the School of Natural Science, Nursing and Mathematics. Tommy joined the staff of Weather Works as an intern during the summer of 1996 and was hired as a full time Meteorologist in May of 1997. Some of Tommy's daily tasks at Weather Works includes: providing accurate weather forecasts, certified weather reconstruction reports for insurance companies and law firms, storm alerts, radio weather broadcasts, managing operations and much more. Besides all of the weather tasks described above, Tommy is the Internet expert, Web Master, in house programmer and is responsible for constructing and maintaining the Weather Works web site. Since graduating from Kean University, Tommy has successfully completed several computer programming classes in CGI Programming and in PERL. He has been a member of the American Meteorological Society since his college years.

John Marshall

(On-Air Meteorologist at WNBC )

John Marshall is the meteorologist for WNBC’s weekend editions of News 4 New York at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. He joined the station in 1998 as a fill-in meteorologist for various newscasts. Prior to WNBC, he spent two years as the on-air meteorologist for the morning and noon newscasts at WYOU-TV in Scranton, Pa. Before that, John was the on-air meteorologist and morning show co-anchor at WMAZ-TV in Macon, Ga. He began his career as the off-air meteorologist at WNBC from 1991-1994. Marshall is a recipient of the prestigious American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval. He received the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award “In the Sciences” in 2003 from Kean University in New Jersey. He is the Grand Marshal for the annual Lupus Walk of the Mid-Hudson Valley affiliate.

 


 

Stephen D. Pellettiere
(President , Ion Weather)

Steve Pellettiere graduated with a degree in Earth Science (minor in math) from Kean University in 1975. Immediately upon graduation, Steve began a private weather service at Morristown Airport, Morristown, New Jersey. His company, Ion Weather, has been serving corporations, municipalities, law firms and insurance companies ever since. Steve has been broadcasting the weather on local radio stations in the northeast for over 33 years and was a staff Meteorologist on WCBS AM News 88 in New York from 1989 to 2001. Steve is a recognized “expert” in the field of meteorology in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Maryland courts. He has written over 1400 weather research reports and testified in court over 100 times since 1976. Steve also oversees computer and website operations for his company. With sensitivity to what severe weather can do to communities, Steve has volunteered and served in many storm damage relief programs. He traveled to New Orleans twice in 2006 for weeklong missions for Hurricane Katrina Relief, a part of Catholic Charities’ “Operation Helping Hands” program. Steve is a member of the American Meteorological Society, The National Weather Association and The American Academy of Forensic Sciences. He has an active 2nd degree black belt in Korean Tae Kwon Do and has been bestowed an Honorary Colonel, United States Army for continued public service.
