Campus Alerts
About Rave Alert
Kean University utilizes Rave Mobile Safety, a leader in mass notification and incident management, to communicate emergencies and share critical information and alerts to the campus community.
This includes alerts for potential security-related incidents, power outages, IT service disruptions, weather-related closures, shifts to remote operations and other critical advisories.
Students are automatically registered through the contact information included in KeanWise.
Faculty and Staff are automatically registered through the contact information in Workday.
NOTE: We encourage all members of the Kean community to enter a mobile phone number in their personal records. Faculty and staff should review their Workday profile and Home Contact section. Ensure that a mobile device (personal or work cellphone) is entered as the primary phone number in the Home Contact Information. A landline can be added as a secondary phone.
Alerts and advisories are sent as text messages and emailed to your @kean.edu account. Depending on the nature of the alert, you may also receive a voicemail and/or see posts on Kean University's social media channels.
The Rave Mobile Safety platform is used by thousands of K-12 schools and higher education institutions across the country and will replace the previously used MIR3 CampusAlert™ notification system.
The platform is maintained by the Office of Information Technology (IT), and operated by the University Police and University Relations.
Kean University is committed to providing our students, staff and faculty with services that enhance the safety and security of our community. If you have any questions about Rave Alerts, please contact the IT Help Desk at (908) 737-6000.
