Kean, a comprehensive New Jersey state university, is seeking faculty and staff for its additional campus site in Wenzhou, China. Wenzhou is one of the most vibrant and economically advanced cities on China’s East Coast, located one hour by plane and just over three hours by high-speed train from Shanghai and Hong Kong. Launched in 2012, Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) sits on approximately 500 beautiful acres and is now in the midst of a growth phase that will bring enrollment to more than 5,000 students.

English-speaking International School Located in Wenzhou, China

Director IV
K-12 Education Administrator

The K-12 Education Administrator will manage the English-speaking international school and direct teaching and instruction in English-speaking international classrooms. Under direction and supervision of Kean USA leadership, the Education Administrator provides overall management in the planning, execution and evaluation of lessons and educational experiences of assigned pupils and/or classes; directs programming and maintains comprehensive building leadership as both a building administrator and educational leader; and does related work as required. This will be an international assignment and the hired employee must be willing and able to relocate. Travel is required to the Kean USA campus.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college; two years of professional experience as an education administrator; and English fluency is required. Possession of a valid New Jersey School Administrator or Principal Certification issued by the Board of Examiners of the New Jersey Department of Education or equivalent administrative credentials as determined by the University also required. Significant experience as an education administrator in an international school and familiarity with Chinese culture is preferred.

Teacher 2, 10 Months

The Teacher supports the international classrooms in the K-12 English-speaking International School. Under the direction and supervision of the Education Administrator, the Teacher is responsible for teaching and instruction in English and plans, executes and evaluates lessons and educational experiences of assigned pupils and/or classes; and does related work as required. This will be an international assignment and the hired employee must be willing and able to relocate. Travel may be required to the Kean USA campus.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and possession of a valid New Jersey Teacher's Certificate (Standard, Emergency or Provisional) or Permanent Endorsement, issued by the Board of Examiners of the New Jersey Department of Education, authorizing instruction in subject areas appropriate to the teaching assignment as determined by the university is required. Equivalent teaching credentials from other US states will be considered.

Launched in 2012, Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) sits on approximately 500 beautiful acres and is now in the midst of a growth phase that will bring enrollment to more than 5,000 students.

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs for Wenzhou-Kean University, the University Registrar directs the Office of the Registrar at Wenzhou-Kean University in accordance with FERPA guidelines. The Director actively participates in the development and implementation of office goals, policies, procedures and the delivery of daily services; provides leadership to plan, organize and manage all of the activities related to records and registration; and does related work as required. This position is located at the Wenzhou-Kean University campus in Wenzhou, China.  This will be an international assignment and candidates must be willing and able to relocate. Travel is required to the Kean USA campus several times each year.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college; two years of progressive professional experience in a college/university registrar’s office  in the United States associated with student enrollment, registration and records; and knowledge of policies and procedures associated with those records required. Master's degree in higher education administration or a related discipline preferred.  Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and English fluency; working knowledge of Mandarin is a plus. Hands-on knowledge of the Datatel student information system is preferred.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources at Kean University’s USA campus located in Union, New Jersey, the Global Human Resources Generalist assists in the overall administration of the Human Resources function for employees working at Wenzhou-Kean University in Wenzhou, China.  The Global Human Resources Generalist has management responsibilities pertaining to overseas operations including, but not limited to the following areas: Employee Relations, Benefits, Compensation, Training and Development, Time and Attendance and Recruitment. The Global Human Resources Generalist develops and implements HR related policies and procedures in connection with assigned areas of responsibility. This position is located at the Wenzhou-Kean University campus in Wenzhou, China.  This will be an international assignment and selected candidate must be willing and able to relocate. Travel is required to the Kean USA campus. 

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience in Human Resources required. International experience or exposure through work or study a plus. Candidate must have the ability to read, write and speak English fluently, with strong oral and written communication skills. Computing ability including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher), video conferencing and HRIS is essential.
