New Student Orientation

WELCOME TO COUGAR NATION!

We are excited to welcome you to our vibrant community. As you embark on this new chapter of your academic journey, we designed New Student Orientation (NSO) to ensure you have a smooth transition into university life. All incoming Fall 2024 NEW Kean Union freshmen students are required to attend. The sessions include learning how to navigate campus, registering for classes, finding out about campus support services, meeting your new classmates, and building meaningful connections.

All of the in-person New Student Orientations (NSO) have concluded. Students who missed the on-campus experience or want to review the information provided during the sessions will have the opportunity to go through the Virtual New Student Orientation in Canvas.

All incoming freshmen and transfer students have received access to the 2024 Virtual New Student Orientation online in Canvas.

Kean University will host its inaugural Freshman Convocation on Friday, August 30, 2024. The event is open to all incoming freshmen students to welcome the Class of 2028 to Kean University. We ask that all family and friends participate in the event by watching the live stream broadcast of the event. All the students are to wear the NSO t-shirt and khaki bottoms.
