Biography

Julie Harris has an active record of exhibiting her work regionally, nationally and internationally, with over two hundred shows, to date. She continues to work primarily in intaglio printmaking, silkscreen handmade paper and the book arts.  At present, her creative work focuses upon the staggering statistics that one in eight women will develop breast cancer within her lifetime.  Her work is powerful, personal and of the moment in engaging with current avant garde multimedia experimentation, as well as socio-political consciousness. Julie was the recipient of a New Jersey State Council of the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship (2024 and 2025).

Selected Exhibitions

Highlights include the Warrior Women solo exhibition at BSB Gallery in Trenton, New Jersey, as well as taking part in three important traveling shows; Contain Your Fear, initiated in Chicago, A Complex Weave: Women and Identity in Contemporary Art, initiated in New Jersey, and Underneath it All, initiated in Washington D.C.
