ANTICIPATED FACULTY POSITIONS 2008-2009

FACULTY POSITIONS (10 Months) All open faculty positions are full-time tenure-track or multi-year assignments, effective September 1, 2008 unless otherwise indicated. Rank is Assistant Professor unless otherwise specified. Courses to be taught at the Union campus unless otherwise indicated. All faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental, college and university level is also expected. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. NATHAN WEISS GRADUATE COLLEGE
Department of Graduate Management Studies (Assistant/Associate) - to teach graduate courses in global management in both the Global MBA and Executive MBA programs; to assist in further developing the offerings of the Global MBA program, the expansion of the Executive MBA in new off site locations and the development of graduate certificate programs. Ph.D. required, preferred in International Business with global finance focus or in a relevant business field. An international business/global management record and a specialization in one or more of the following areas a plus: Global Finance, International HR Management, or global leadership. Department of Science and Technology Education
NJ Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics Education
(CSTME) – 2 Positions
Mathematics Secondary Education -
to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in secondary mathematics education; to develop and coordinate an enrichment program for middle or high school science or mathematics students. Must be able to work as part of an integrated team with the CSTME core courses that link math, science and education curriculum content for majors. A background in the use of instructional and research technology related to mathematics and mathematics education and experience with assessment and evaluation required. Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Mathematics Education required; ABD considered with completion date by June 2008. 3 years teaching experience required.

Science Education – to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in chemistry and laboratory work. Must be able to work as part of an integrated curriculum team of CSTME faculty teaching mathematics courses linked to science courses. May also include teaching courses in chemistry, physics and science seminars depending on area of expertise. Background in the use of instructional and research technology related to chemistry and demonstrated proficiency of use with analytical instrumentation and chemistry lab equipment required. COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Department of Communication - to teach journalism courses and to be advisor to the campus newspaper. Must have an understanding of the communication discipline to relate to undergraduate and graduate students in a growing department. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Department of Accounting (Assistant/Associate) 2 positions - to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting with specialization in auditing and financial accounting. Ph.D. in Accounting required, ABD considered with completion date by June 2008. Department of Public Administration - to teach graduate courses in health service administration involving health care finance/planning/marketing as well as general public administration courses. COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

Department of Counselor Education – to teach graduate courses in counseling; to be responsible for the assessment and supervision of practicum/internship and student research. Position requires professional specialty in school counseling (including New Jersey school counseling certification or eligibility). Earned doctorate in Counseling, Counselor Education or Counseling Psychology required. Two plus years of college/graduate teaching experience required and LPC or eligibility strongly preferred. Department of Special Education – to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in special education and possible post-graduate courses in the Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant program. Ed.D. or Ph.D. required in Special Education or related field. ABD considered with completion date by June 2008.  Candidate must have working/teaching experience with culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse populations in early childhood setting/programs, including child care, pre-school and pre-K to third grade. Department of Mathematics – to teach introductory and advanced courses in mathematics. To participate in interdisciplinary research collaboration and support activities for the Urban Ecosystems Study initiative. Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences required. Department of Occupational Therapy (Assistant/Associate) - to teach research methods and general OT content in the curriculum; to mentor student research projects. Doctorate preferred, will consider OT with earned Master’s degree and significant progress toward doctorate. Eligibility for New Jersey license required. Previous teaching experience and a minimum of 3 years relevant clinical experience required. Preference given to individuals with experience in adult physical disabilities. SCHOOL OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS

Department of Design
I
nterior Design - to teach undergraduate studio and lectures including commercial design studios, drafting and construction, business practices and documents, AutoCAD and graphic communications techniques. Assist in the development of curriculum design for a Master’s degree in Interior Design – eventually teach graduate level studios and courses in design theory, research methods or issues. Ph.D. in Architecture, Master’s degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design, MFA or equivalent in interior design/interior architecture, or related fields required. 5 years teaching and/or practitioner in professional design/architecture field desired, NCIDQ certification preferred; active membership in design and/or education organizations preferred.
